We made a tiny change in the downstairs of our home & it made it look instantly more expensive
MANY people are looking for new ways to make their home a show-stopper, but don’t want to spend a load of cash in the process.
So one couple has shared their small but mighty home decor tip that they said has made their surroundings instantly more expensive.
And it’s all to do with a good paint job, specifically giving the doors and skirting boards a new lick of colour.
Social media user Anne Sheeran explained she and her partner decided to make some small tweaks to the downstairs of their home to improve its aesthetic in the hope of making it appear more luxurious.
And they couldn’t be happier with the results, as Anne, who can be found on TikTok at @90percentflatpack, revealed.
Anne explained: “We have painted all of the woodwork in the downstairs of our house because we didn’t have the time or money to paint the walls.
“And the return on investment has been massive.”
So how did they go about their home transformation?
The mum explained: “We have spent the past couple of months using bedtime and nap times, and any free second that we had to paint the woodwork in the downstairs of our house.
“And it’s made such a massive difference.”
Anne then shared some before and after footage of her family’s home, as she said: “It was a very stark, kind of white against an off-white colour on the walls.
“It made the walls look kind of yellowy in contrast and it really cheapened the look of the woodwork as well.”
However, once they’d put on a few coats of a new shade, they noticed an instant change.
“So we put down some nice bright colours,” Anne continued, as she said one of the shades they’d gone for on the doors was called Setting Pastel.
They also chose a slightly bolder colour, a nice sage green, for the skirting boards.
And on showing the after shots, it almost looked like a completely new home.
Anne went on to say: “For time-poor parents, this has made such a massive difference.
“And it was such an easier job than changing the colour of the walls.”
And Anne’s followers were all in agreement that their home now looked like something out of a brochure.
