Charles Barkley Guarantees Celtics Will Win NBA Championship, and Fans All Had the Same Joke
Charles Barkley dropped a bold prediction for the 2024 NBA Finals on Monday, having sized up the league’s contenders before making his pick on who the champions will be.
During Monday’s segment of TNT’s NBA Tip-Off, Barkley boldly stated that the Celtics were going to win a championship this season. When pressed by Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith about his choice, Barkley upped the ante and made his prediction into a full-fledged guarantee.
“The Boston Celtics are gonna win the championship. Guaranteed!” shouted Barkley.
It’s not the first time this year Barkley has picked Boston to win the title.
Of course, history hasn’t been on Barkley’s side when it comes to his NBA finals predictions. Just last season, the 60-year-old sided with the Heat over the Nuggets, a forecast which was off the mark. He backed the Celtics to win a title in 2022 before they lost to the Warriors.

After Barkley’s latest prediction, NBA fans on social media were quick to declare that the Celtics’ season was over, having been cursed by the prediction from Barkley.
