Arrest made in August hit-and-run in Woodstock
WOODSTOCK, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- New York State Police have reported an arrest was made on December 18, in a hit-and-run crash that happened on August 29, leaving a man critically injured. Keith McNamara, 51, of Kingston, faces multiple charges.
A preliminary investigation showed Mark Segall, a 68-year-old from Kingston was riding his bike south on State Route 375 when he was struck by an unknown truck that fled the scene. Segall was transported to the Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where he was in critical but stable condition.
Troopers continued to investigate the crash, which led to them to arrest McNamara. He was charged with one count of assault in the second degree, a class D felony, one count of tampering with physical evidence and one count of leaving the scene of an accident, resulting in a serious injury, both class E felonies.
Police determined on August 29, McNamara was reportedly driving the pick-up truck that hit Segall and fled the scene. McNamara was sent to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
