NYSP to deliver toys to the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The New York State Police will bring presents to the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital, 43 New Scotland Avenue, around 10 a.m. Patients will then be able to "shop" for their favorite toys.
On Wednesday, local state troopers went on a shopping spree, buying toys and other items for patients at Albany Medical Center Children's Hospital. This shopping event and donation is part of the 11th annual holiday toy drive.
"One of the founding troopers that started this fundraiser retired last year, so he is still heavily involved, and he is assisting us with it and guiding us," NYSP Troop G PIO Stephanie O’Neil said. "And basically, passing the torch to the next generation of state police members."
The toys and gifts will be displayed in Camp Amedore where patients can pick out which items they would like, themselves. NYSP said they hope to continue the program for years to come.
