‘Petty’ binman caught tampering with rubbish bags on Christmas
A ‘petty’ binman was caught removing a rubbish bag from the top of a bin and dumping it on the pavement.
The ring doorbell footage was captured by Sam Turner, who lives in Hull.
He posted the video on X, with the caption: ‘Remind me why I pay you over £130 a month [Hull City Council].’
The video starts by showing worker walking over to the bin while a lorry drives down the road.
The binman then reaches the house, picks up the rubbish bag and dumps it on the pavement.
He then strides off and wheels the bin off to the lorry and empties the remnants into the lorry.
After this, the binman is seen walking at a fast pace back to the house, before he puts the bin back but leaves the other bin bag on the road.
People on X have been left furious after watching the video, with many pointing out how lazy this binman is.
This includes Debs who tweeted: ‘I pay £285 a month. They tip the rubbish, recycling and food into one bin. Whatever lands on the floor stays there.
‘Our bins are abandoned at the end of the road for us to retrieve. I’ve complained so many times.’
Daniel Burchell pointed out: ‘And then people wonder why bin men don’t get a Christmas tip anymore.’
But an account called The Guinness Boys is on the binman’s side and wrote: ‘You know the rules! Follow them it’s that simple.’
Hull City Council has been contacted for comment.
