‘Most daring Israeli commando op ever’ REVEALED as dramatic vid shows raid on underground Iran missile factory in Syria
ISRAELI military has released footage showing its “most daring” military operation ever after secret commandos raided an underground missile factory inside Syria.
The mission was carried out by Israeli elite forces who stormed the facility underground facility used Iran to manufacture precision missiles for Hezbollah.
Footage shows more than 100 helicopter-borne troops raiding the compound during nighttime in September.
Soldiers from the Israeli Defence Forces were seen boarding and dismounting from helicopters and moving through what appears to be a concrete-lined tunnel and industrial site.
Other footage showed senior commanders at a control centre, apparently as the operation proceeds.
Long barrels that appeared to look like missiles were also seen in the video.
It is understood that Israelis destroyed the entire compound in what they claim will be a major blow to Iran.
Dubbed “Deep Layer” by the Israeli military, the missile production facility was dug into a mountain at the Scientific Studies and Research Center (SSRC) in the Masyaf area of Syria, west of Hama.
Israeli claims the weapons factory had been used to supply missiles and rockets to Hezbollah.
Many of these missiles were launched into Israel in the aftermath of the October 7 attacks, the country’s military has claimed.
The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said it had intelligence about the factory from the moment Iran began constructing the site back in 2017.
The site was located more sine 124 miles north of the Israeli border.
Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshan from the IDF said the complex was “the flagship of Iranian manufacturing efforts in our region”.
He added: “This facility was designed to manufacture hundreds of strategic missiles per year from start to finish, for Hezbollah to use in their aerial attacks on Israel.”
Shoshani said the nighttime raid was “one of the more complex operations the IDF has done in recent years”.
Accompanied by airstrikes, it involved dozens of aircraft and around 100 helicopter-borne troops, he said.
“At the end of the raid, the troops dismantled the facility, including the machines and the manufacturing equipment, themselves,” he said
At the time of the raid, deposed Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad was still in power.
Israeli officials have accused Assad of helping the Lebanese-based Hezbollah movement receive arms from Iran and say they are determined to stop the flow of weapons into Lebanon.
As Assad’s government crumbled towards the end of last year, Israel launched a series of strikes against Syrian military infrastructure and weapons manufacturing sites to prevent them from falling into the hands of enemies.
OTHER TUNNEL RAIDS
Chilling footage emerged showing the inside of a Hezbollah terror tunnel that crossed into Israeli territory from Lebanon.
The clip shows crack commandos from the Israeli military storming the 20-meter-long tunnel before destroying it as they continue to target key Hezbollah infrastructure.
Located by the IDF during physical raids, the terror tunnel crossed the UN-recognized blue line by 10 meters at the western sector of the border near the Lebanese village of Marwahin.
Troops also found weapons inside the tunnel, including explosives and anti-tank missiles.
It was built dangerously close to the Israeli settlement of Zar’it that sits right next to it.
IDF said Hezbollah began constructing the tunnel some two years ago, but the tunnel had no exit built into the Israeli territory – and that no Israeli settlement was ever under threat by the tunnel.
According to the IDF, there are no other tunnels known to cross into Israel from Lebanon.
It comes after Israeli special forces stormed another Hezbollah tunnel and found a command centre with weapons.
Footage showed the IDF’s elite soldiers moving through the 250m-long tunnel before they destroyed it as part of their invasion.
The tunnel was only 300 metres from the border and did not cross into Israel, the IDF says.
