I got pregnant after a one-night stand & now have to co-parent with a stranger… it’s not how I imagined being a mum

A SINGLE mum has told how she fell pregnant after a night-one stand and now has to co-parent with ”a stranger”.

According to mum Beth, this is not how she thought motherhood would be, but despite having a child with someone she slept after a night-out at university, she wouldn’t have it any other way and is ”so thankful” for her son, Oliver.

The student, who had the one-night stand with ”a friend of a friend”, went back to her studies at five weeks postpartum after what she described a ”traumatic birth”.

Although this was a challenging time in her life, Beth said she was determined to show her son it’s important ”to never give up”.

With maternity leave coming to an end, Beth had no idea how she was ”going to juggle being a single mum to a baby, full-time at uni and working enough hours” to support herself and her son Oliver.

Despite being essentially strangers who had sex, Beth insisted that she and the father of the child have managed to get themselves ”into a pretty good rhythm of learning how to co-parent together”.

”We are pretty open at talking about how we’re feeling and things we want for Oliver,” she shared to her 73k followers on TikTok.

”We are only human, so at some point I am sure we will argue or not agree on something,” the mum said, adding that there have been times in the past where the two have disagreed.

This, Beth explained in the a recent video on her page, has usually been resolves by simply ”talking to each other”.

”Again, I am not too sure if this would be any different if there was some sort of a messy break-up because there’s some hatred there – which just isn’t there for us.”

Before this, Beth said she had been ”posting silly little videos” – but then one day decided to take creating content more seriously, and it’s since paid off.

”So, in October of 2023 I started to take it seriously and learn everything I could about earning on social media and started to believe in myself,” said the mum-of-one, joking that perhaps she was simply ”delulu”.

Just a year later, Beth claimed, she’s raking in a staggering three times more than she ever did as a shift worker.

This meant she was finally able to get ”the freedom” she wanted ”to balance uni work” and spend precious time with Oliver ”whilst he was so small”.

”If someone like me can do it, you definitely can to. I am so proud of myself,” she said.

According to the single parent, whose tot is now a little over two yeas old, Oliver is ”everyone’s first priority”.

”He’ll grow up knowing he’s so loved by both his parents and his surprise appearance was meant to be,” Beth went on in the comments.

Beth’s unusual story has touched the hearts of hundreds of social media users, who flooded to the comments to praise the single mum for her resilience.

One person wrote: ”I can’t imagine how difficult it must have been having to trust someone who is essentially a stranger, with your child! 10/10 for making the best of the situation for your boy!”

Someone else chimed in: ”As someone who is going through the same but pregnant so not quite co parenting yet. These videos are a huge comfort. Thank you for being transparent!”
