Red flag warning Monday due to low humidity and gusty south winds
What We’re Tracking
- Red Flag Warning Monday
- Warming back up early this week
- Rain/snow chance on Wednesday
A clear sky overhead will take us into the overnight hours, with temperatures dropping into the upper 30s. Light south winds up to 10 mph will persist.
A warming trend begins early next week, with highs reaching the upper 70s by Monday under plenty of sunshine. However, elevated fire danger will continue due to low humidity and increasing winds.
A Red Flag Warning is in effect for all of northeast Kansas on Monday. Southwest winds will range from 15-20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph, making outdoor burning highly discouraged.
By Tuesday, temperatures will soar into the lower 80s ahead of our next rain chance. Showers move in Tuesday night, with a changeover to snow by morning for western counties. That change to snow will spread east into early Wednesday, but with above freezing surface temperatures most of it will melt either on contact or shortly afterward with highs rebounding into the 40s in the afternoon.
