Teens to get taste of college with UAlbany summer camps
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The University of Albany's pre-collegiate summer camps will offer teens a wide range of programs this year. From STEM to esports, local teens can engage in dozens of programs starting July 7.
UAlbany's summer camps offer junior and senior high school students the opportunity to learn more about their passions while getting a headstart on their future academic and professional careers. Students are accepted into the camps on a first-come, first-served basis and should register at least two weeks in advance.
The camps are from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and students must bring lunch and snacks. Pick up and drop off will be at UAlbany’s Uptown Campus.
Summer camp programs include STEM, arts and writing, esports, color guard, Spanish language immersion, women creating change, and more. Any camps that don't meet enrollment requirements will be canceled two weeks before the camp starts.
"UAlbany’s camps offer students a unique opportunity to engage with each other in a supportive and dynamic environment that fosters independence and exploration," said Ed Engelbride, associate vice president for student affairs and enrollment. "We are excited to introduce them to our campus and world-class resources, which can inspire their dreams for the future."
Anyone with questions about registering for the camps should email UAlbany at SummerCamps@albany.edu. Registration can be completed online through the UAlbany website.
