Tesla Cybertruck Faces Massive Recall Impacting Nearly Every Vehicle
Tesla Cybertrucks are facing a massive recall that will affect nearly every one of the futuristic-looking vehicles on the road.
On Thursday, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced a massive recall impacting more than 46,000 Cybertrucks.
The recall warns Cybertruck owners that an exterior panel that runs along the left and right sight of the windshield can detach while driving. Obviously, this would create a dangerous road hazard for other drivers and could potentially cause a crash, the Associated Press reports.
Tesla will replace the panel free of charge, offering a remedy that uses an adhesive that’s not been found to be vulnerable to "environmental embrittlement" as well as additional reinforcements. Owner notification letters regarding the massive recall are expected to be mailed on May 19, 2025.
The recall of 46,096 Cybertrucks covers all of the 2024 and 2025 model years which were manufactured from Nov. 13, 2023, to Feb. 27, 2025, which encompasses nearly every Cybertruck on the road.
The latest recall is yet another setback for the Cybertruck model which has already faced multiple recalls since the vehicle made its way to the public in 2023.
Back in April of 2024, a massive recall was issued as a result of a major design flaw that caused the accelerator pedal to become stuck. Then, in December, a significant number of Cybertrucks were involved in a larger Tesla recall regarding the TPMS warning light, which failed to alert drivers to dangerously low tire pressure.
This news comes after Tesla shares have plummeted 42 percent in 2025. However, the company's stock price did not seem to be immediately impacted by the recall.
For more information on the recall, Cybertruck owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752 and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236. Or they can visit nhtsa.gov.
