My windows were riddled with thick mould – a £4.20 gel has kept it at bay for four months
A WOMAN has revealed the £4.20 hack she used to banish dangerous mould from her bathroom.
With temperatures plummeting this weekend, you may have noticed that the cold weather has caused condensation to start to appear on your windows.
Condensation occurs when warm, moist air comes into contact with a cold surface, causing the water vapour in the air to condense into liquid water.
This can then lead to mould growth on walls and ceilings, which can cause a wide variety of health problems, including asthma and rashes.
It can also cause damage to your home and furniture, so it’s best to find the root cause of the issue, and fix it.
Known only as @ladylegit online, one TikToker revealed that her window ledges were riddled with black mould.
Taking matters into her own hands, she decided to purchase some Mould Magic gel, which you can pick up from TikTok shop for £4.20.
After applying the gel to the affected area, the woman waiting for two hours, and then wiped it off.
“I mean the results speak for themselves,” she said, revealing that the mould had completely vanished.
The TikToker said that she had tried three different types of bleach on the mould, but said that it would always come back.
“This mould magic is the only thing that’s permanently got rid of the mould,” she said.
In the caption of her video, the woman revealed that she had used the gel on her mould four months ago, and it hasn’t yet come back.
The video has now gone viral, racking up a whopping five million views.
TikTokers raced to the comments section to share their thoughts, with many praising the method.
One person said: “Just bought this, can’t wait to see the results.”
A second person said: “This really does work. I used this about three years ago and it honestly hasn’t returned.”

How to remove mould from walls:
- Fill a bucket with water and mild detergent like washing up liquid. Or use a dedicated mould remover to make quick work of it.
- Dip a cloth in water and wipe the mould off the wall. Don’t brush it as this can release mould spores.
- Once you’ve removed the mould, use a dry rag to remove the rest of the moisture.
- Throw away the cloth and vacuum the room to make sure you’ve removed all of the spores.
How to paint over mould:
Never ever paint over mould without killing it first. It won’t tackle the source of the problem and will make it look worse.
Once you’ve treated the affected area, use a specialist anti-mould paint to finish the job.
Damp stains can be painted over with a suitable paint like Ronseal’s 6 Year Anti Mould Paint, so long as the damp has dried and the source has been treated. Some damp sealants can be applied directly onto a wet surface, so check the instructions before you begin.
