The Laxmi Vilas Palace takes place as the the largest private home built till date and four times the size of Buckingham Palace. It is built over 500 -700 acres at a price of Rs 6 million, according to Gujarat Tourism official site, in 1890. It was commissioned and built by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III. Samarjitsinh Ranjitsinh Gaekwad, former cricketer , was crowned as the Maharja of Baroda in 2012. He got married of Radhikaraje who hails from the royal family of Wankaner State.
