'Hawk Tuah Girl' Has 3-Word Message For Everyone Tuesday
Haliey Welch is back on social media.
The viral sensation, who rose to fame last summer following an on-the-street interview in Nashville, had been absent from social media - and her podcast - for a couple of months. Welch was involved in a controversial meme coin launch and she went dark on social media in December. The last episode of her "Talk Tuah" podcast was put out at the end of the year.
She had released a statement on Dec. 20.
“I take this situation extremely seriously and want to address my fans, the investors who have been affected, and the broader community,” Welch wrote in a statement on Dec. 20. “I am fully cooperating with and am committed to assisting the legal team representing the individuals impacted, as well as to help uncover the truth, hold the responsible parties accountable, and resolve this matter,” she continued.
“If you have experienced losses related to this, please contact Burwick Law using the link below: https://burwick.law/newclient. @BurwickLaw,” the statement concluded.
Many thought that Welch could ride into the sunset, perhaps leaving social media for good, though she's back now.
Tuesday afternoon, Welch returned to Instagram with a three-word message for everyone.
"What’d I miss?" she wrote.
As first reported by Deadline, Welch will be the subject of a new documentary. The documentary on the viral sensation will be done by the Emmy-winning production company Bungalow Media + Entertainment.
The production company is behind several notable documentaries, including "Cyber Sleuths: The Idaho Murders" and "Surviving Jeffrey Epstein."
Welch is officially participating in the project, which "will chronicle how Welch, a young woman from a small-town with no active social media presence, unknowingly created a viral moment that gave way into a global phenomenon."
"I hope y'all been enjoying the crazy stories about 'my life' unfold on social media," Welch said in a statement released to Deadline.
"First, I was dead. Then pregnant. Now I'm wanted by Interpol and in Jail! Luckily, we've been working with Bungalow to start spilling the tea and the truth is actually even more bizarre than you think."
The documentary will include exclusive interviews with Welch and her friends and family members.
