Girlfriend of Brett Gardner’s Son Speaks Out as Investigation Continues
An investigation surrounding Brett Gardner's 14-year-old son is very much ongoing after the teen died after falling ill on the family's vacation in Costa Rica.
After the news of Miller Gardner's death broke, his girlfriend shared a tribute to him on TikTok, according to Page Six.
"I am so so crushed and I never imagine this could happen," Zoe Williams captioned her post. "I just wish I could’ve said goodbye or talked to you or even given you a hug for one last time. I love you more than anything and I’ll never be able to get over your loss," she added.
She also shared a number of different photos from memories that she made with Miller over the years.
"I am so glad that I got to experience love with you even though we were too young to make it last. I’ll never trade the time we had," she wrote. "You made me feel so special and I’ll never forget that. I will forever remember you until I die."
Per Page Six, Williams has since made her account private.
Miller was staying with his family at the Arenas Del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest Resort in Costa Rica when he and other family members began feeling sick.
Miller's cause of death is still under investigation after authorities in Costa Rica claimed that he died by asphyxiation after "possibly having gotten sick from eating something," per NBC News. However, that no longer appears to be the case.
"It was preliminarily ruled out that the cause of death was due to asphyxia, due to the fact that at the time of the inspection of the body, no anomaly was observed at macro level in the respiratory tract," an official with Costa Rica's Judicial Investigation Agency said, per NBC News.
It seems the Gardner family will not have the answers they seek until Miller's autopsy is complete — and the process could take months.
