NYPD's first female K9 team is on patrol
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Members of the NYPD continue to break down barriers, this time, with the department's first female K9 team.
Meet Detective Christina Orlando and her K9 partner Lindsay. The pair are members of the emergency services unit. The two respond to dangerous situations on a daily basis.
Detective Orlando says she has been with Lindsay since the dog was first brought to the K9 training center in 2017. Lindsay has received training on locating narcotics and search and rescue.
"She has taught me so much about myself, both as a person and a handler, and I feel very lucky to have her," says Orlando.
