Council approves
Isabel Cook redo
The Town Council unanimously approved a renovation project at the Isabel Cook Community Center.
The center’s gym and preschool at 1000 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. needs rooftop and boiler piping repairs, staff said.
The center’s roof currently has skip sheathing, an old roofing practice that does not meet several state fire, insulation and seismic building codes. The boiler pipes are also near the end of their lifespan.
The estimated cost of the project is $167,000. The project is expected to start in late spring.
The council took action at a meeting Tuesday.

Assemblymember Damon Connolly will be the featured speaker at the Marin Coalition program on April 3.
Connolly’s remarks, “From Marin to Sacramento: A talk and discussion about issues, actions, and prospects,” will focus on his efforts amid the national political climate and bills making their way through the Legislature, organizers said.
Check-in begins at 3:30 p.m. The program runs from 4- 5:30 p.m. in the Creekside Room at Dominican University, 100 Magnolia Ave.
