One of the world’s best cities is getting new daily flights from the UK
NEW daily flights will soon connect the UK to one of the best cities in the world.
Singapore Airlines launched flights from London Gatwick to Singapore last year.
However, currently operating five times a week, the airline has confirmed this will increase to a daily flight.
Starting from March 31, the daily flight will take off at 10:15am, landing the following day in Singapore at 6:20am.
The daily return flight will be an overnight flight, departing at 11:55pm and arriving back in the UK at 6:25am.
Mohamed Rafi Mar, Singapore Airlines’ general manager UK and Ireland, said: “There’s no greater testament to the success of our Gatwick service than the expansion of our schedule within its first year.”
And Gatwick chief commercial officer Jonathan Pollard added: “Singapore is one of a number of long-haul carriers looking to increase frequency and routes from London Gatwick, which is testament to the fantastic service we are able to provide our airline partners and their passengers.”
It isn’t just Gatwick Airport operating flights to Singapore from the UK.
Four flights a week operate from London Heathrow to Singapore, while five flights operate from Manchester Airport.
And both Qantas and British Airways offer flights from the UK to Singapore, from London Heathrow.
Direct flights take around 13 hours, with the cheapest flights from £565 return.
You might even see some revamped planes too, with Singapore investing £635million into the cabin and dining options.
Singapore was even named one of the best cities in the world.
Featuring on the World’s Best Cities for 2025 list created by Resonance, it came in fifth place after London, New York and Paris.
Around 30 factors were considered including livability as well as attractions, nightlife, and safety and infrastructure.
It explained: “Emerging from its origins as a free-spirited trading port, Singapore has undergone a remarkable transformation to emerge as one of Asia’s most modern, well-organized and captivating urban centers. With dining and shopping to match.”
It is home to one of the world’s best airports too.
The world’s biggest indoor waterfall is at Changi Airport, which is one of the main attractions.
And it has a swimming pool you can visit between flights for less than £20.
Last year, the airport revealed plans for a new Terminal 5 which would welcome another 50 million passengers a year.

Near here is the Michelin Guide-recommended Hill Street Tai Hwa — where I paid just £5 for a huge portion of juicy noodles with tender pork liver and crispy pieces of plaice on top.
Expected to cost billions, it hopes to open by 2030.
