Ariana Grande, 31, Posts Shocking Transformation Photo
Ariana Grande is in her grandmother era.
On Friday, March 28, the Wicked star shared a new photo of herself completely transformed into an old woman. The makeover was for a new short called Brighter Days Ahead which was released on Friday.
The 26-minute visual co-directed by Grande and Christian Breslauer, tells the story of Grande's life through music and special effects. Oh, and she gets abducted by aliens at one point, too.
"twilight zone ♡ brighter days ahead, the deluxe album & the short film ♡ out now," Grande captioned an Instagram post.
The video begins with Grande, whose on-screen character is named Peaches, inside the Brighter Days memory-wiping center. Fans may recognize the character and the location from the “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” music video, which was released in 2024.
Peaches is told that there's technology that will allow her to relive some of her fondest memories. She sits in front of a screen in a wheelchair and selects which memories she'd like to view.
Grande received positive feedback from fans on the Brighter Days Ahead short. Longtime fans of Grande were extremely emotional as they watched the video. The video has been viewed more than 800,000 times on YouTube in the first three hours since its release.
"Sobbing … ari … a masterpiece," one person wrote.
"Absolutely perfect," someone else said.
"Why am i emotional," a third comment read.
The short was released on the same day as Grande's Eternal Sunshine deluxe album, which features six new tracks, many of which fans believe are about Grande's love life — past and present.
