Robert Kardashian's Bible Sells for Eye-Popping Price
Robert Kardashian's Bible, which was featured on the FX series about O.J. Simpson's murder trial, has sold at auction for an eye-popping price.
The father of Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Rob Kardashian was of course close friends with O.J. Simpson prior to his murder trial. Kardashian ended up serving on Simpson's legal team, which helped him get off in arguably the most famous verdict in U.S. court history - at least in popular culture.
Kardashian ended up dying from cancer at 59 years old. Simpson, who was accused but ultimately acquitted in the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman, died at 76 years old last year. He, too, died from cancer.
Simpson's estate has been putting many of his items up for auction. The Bible used by Robert Kardashian to pray for Simpson following his murder charges was put up for sale. It has sold for an eye-popping price, too.
TMZ Sports confirmed on Sunday morning that the Bible sold at auction for more than $80,000.
From the report:
Robert Kardashian's signed and inscribed Bible which was gifted to O.J. Simpson as a token of friendship that Kim Kardashian wanted to pay $15K for has sold at auction for a whopping amount of money ... TMZ has confirmed.
Malcolm LaVergne, the special administrator of O.J.'s estate, tells TMZ ... the Bible of the former lawyer sold at auction for $80,276. He says he doesn't know who the lucky buyer is but notes that whether you loved O.J. or hated him it's clear "his legacy endures."
The entire estate auction reportedly brought in more than $300,000 in sales. There were several other notable items up for sale, too, including Simpson's Heisman Trophy, which he won while starring at USC.
Kim Kardashian had reportedly offered $15,000 for the Bible, though the estate turned her down and put it up for auction.
