1. Adam Gilchrist – 41 years, 181 days
The legendary Australia wicketkeeper-batter holds the record for the oldest player to score a fifty in IPL. Gilchrist achieved the feat while playing for the Kings XI Punjab in the 2013 season. He went on to play a brilliant knock of 85 runs against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, leading his side to a 7-wicket victory.
2. Chris Gayle – 41 years, 39 days
The West Indies batter scored a blistering fifty for the Kings XI Punjab in the 2020 season of IPL against the Rajasthan Royals. Unfortunately, Gayle got dismissed on 99 and missed out on what would have been a fantastic century. His explosive knock included 6 boundaries and 8 sixes.
3. MS Dhoni – 40 years, 262 days
The legendary wicketkeeper-batter holds the record for the oldest Indian player to score a fifty in IPL. Dhoni’s unbeaten knock of 50 runs against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2022 season of IPL, massively helped his side in posting a respectable total of 131/5 in 20 overs. However, this didn’t prove to be enough as the Kolkata-based franchise comfortably reached the 132-run target.
4. Faf du Plessis – 40 years, 260 days
The former South Africa batter scored a tremendous fifty for the Delhi Capitals against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing season of IPL. Du Plessis became the fourth oldest player to score a half-century in the league’s history, massively helping the side in achieving the target of 164.
5. Rahul Dravid – 40 years, 116 days
The legendary India batter scored a great half-century for the Rajasthan Royals against the Delhi Daredevils in the 2013 season of IPL. His knock of 53 runs helped the Rajasthan-based franchise in easily achieving the target of 155 and winning the match by 9 wickets.
