Houston Cheerleaders Wow With Photos Ahead of Final Four
Following an exciting weekend of NCAA basketball, the Final Four is here, and all remaining teams have one thing in common.
For the first time since 2008, the Final Four features entirely No. 1 seeds: Auburn, Florida, Duke and Houston.
Now, these teams will go up against each other on April 5, and the two winners will advance to the final game. No. 1 Auburn will take on No. 1 Florida at 6:09 p.m. EDT on CBS, while No. 1 Houston will go up against No. 1 Duke at 8:49 p.m. on CBS.
Houston coach Kelvin Sampson is 69 years old, making him one of the oldest coaches to take a team to the NCAA Tournament this year. Only St. John's coach Rick Pitino, Michigan State's Tom Izzo and Tennessee's Rick Barnes are older.
Speaking after notching a win to the Final Four, Sampson talked about the legacy of having older coaches.
"You know, Rick and I talk about this. I talk about it with Tom Izzo and we all came up together as young coaches, and now I guess we're all on our way out here pretty soon," he said via the Indy Star. "We have a great game. We still have great kids. Our kids do well in NIL and I'm thankful it hasn't changed our kids."
Along with the players, the Houston cheerleaders and dance team, the Cougar Dolls, were at the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight wins in full force, cheering their team on.
Ahead of the tournament action, the Cougar Dolls took to Instagram to share a photo of the squad smiling into the camera on the court with the caption, "Woke up feeling pretty S W E E T." One follower commented, "What a smile" and "go Coogs" with a bunch of exclamation marks.
Also ahead of the tourney fun, the cheerleaders shared a gallery of photos from the squad cheering the team on this season. "Can’t forget about Cougar Dolls and the Houston Cheer Team," they wrote in the caption. "Always bringing the Coog Spirit," one follower commented.
Cougers cheerleaders Jocelyn took to Instagram to share a mirror photo from the Elite Eight, putting on her red lipstick to match the team's colors. "Elite 8 edition," she wrote on the caption. The post was met with gushing comments and heart emojis.
