David Beckham's Assistant Doubles Down on Affair Claims
David Beckham might have some explaining to do now that his former assistant — and alleged affair partner — is standing on business. Rebecca Loos, who claimed they had an affair in 2004 while his wife, Victoria Beckham, was in the U.K. with their sons, Brooklyn and Romeo, told her story again to 60 Minutes Australia on March 30.
The now-47-year-old yoga instructor hasn't changed her story two decades later. She told the TV news program that she "never exaggerated" or “lied about a single thing” when it came to their reported fling. Loos hasn't been intimidated by "the strongest, most powerful couple in the media who have all the money in the world for the best PR, the best lawyers" because she knows her "truth."
Beckham and Loos' lost weekend reportedly involved a stay at a hotel in Spain when he played for Real Madrid. She said that she fell for "every cliché line" he delivered to her. “Two weeks later [after the hotel], we were at [soccer star Cristiano] Ronaldo’s birthday party and he’s off with this beautiful model," she alleged. "And I was like, ‘Uh.’ That was a hard night for me. I was like, ‘Uh, I don’t understand.'”
The former soccer star, who has always denied the affair, addressed the issue in his 2023 Netflix docuseries, Beckham. "I don’t know how we got through it in all honesty,” he shared. “Victoria is everything to me. To see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we’re fighters. We needed to fight for each other and for our family. What we had was worth fighting for.”
Victoria described that time in their marriage as the "hardest period because it felt like the world was against us." She said the headlines were a "nightmare" and an "absolute circus" which caused her to "resent" her husband for putting them in this position.
In the end, the Beckhams weathered the storm and had two more children, son Cruz and daughter Harper. Loos is now married and the mother of two sons.
