Jenna Ortega Stuns in 'Uncomfortable' See-Through 'Glass' Dress
There's an old saying that "beauty is pain," and it seems like actress Jenna Ortega understood that quite well when she decided to wear a dress that appeared to be made out of different shards of glass.
During a recent appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," the "Wednesday" actress arrived wearing a stunning see-through red dress that looked like she was wearing stained glass all over her body.
The pieces of the mosaic were arranged in such a way that it looked like the actress was wearing flower petals. The pieces of the dress came together in multiple places on the dress to form blooming roses.

It was an absolutely stunning look, but that does not mean it didn't have its drawbacks.
During her interview with Colbert, Ortega admitted that the dress was actually somewhat painful and was "poking" her everytime she sat down.
"That is a beautiful dress you're wearing," Colbert said during the interview. "What is that made of?"
"It's made of glass, and I'm not going to lie, sometimes there’s like pieces of it that are poking my [behind]," Ortega responded. "Every time I sit."
"Let's have some medics standing by," Colbert joked.
Ortega explained that she felt comfortable in the sense that she liked the way she looked in the dress, but quite uncomfortable by the fact that glass was stabbing into her at times.
“I feel uncomfortable and extremely comfortable at the same time,” she said.
The dress was a $13,000 Oscar de la Renta gown designed by Enrique Melendez from his fall 2025 collection. It's also worth noting that the dress wasn't actually made of literal glass. Instead, it was simply made of tough plastic designed to look just like glass.
Clearly, though, the pieces were realistic looking and feeling enough for Ortega – in more ways than one.
