Fans Applauding Macaulay Culkin for Admission About His Dad
Fans are applauding former childhood actor Macaulay Culkin for getting very honest about his relationship with his father.
The former "Home Alone" and "Richie Rich" star opened up about his relationship with his father on Kate and Oliver Hudson's podcast, "Sibling Revelry."
Culkin, now 44, admitted that back in the 1990s, he went to his dad - who was essentially running his career - and admitted that he was exhausted and needed to take a break. His dad wouldn't hear it, though. Culkin ended up getting placed in more movies and couldn't stop working until his parents got divorced when he was 14 years old.
That's the last time he spoke with his dad.
"He's a man who had seven kids and now has four grandkids, and none of them want anything to do with him," Culkin said.
Home Alone
It's not easy to talk about something like this, but fans are applauding the former "Home Alone" star for being so honest and vulnerable.
"I have so much love and admiration for him! It is so great to see him happy! ❤️," one fan wrote.
"The understanding and relatability here ❤️????," another fan added.
"Oh I love him! Can't wait to listen to this one!" one fan added.
"I really appreciate Mac and am so happy he made it out. He and Brenda have a beautiful life and family. ❤️," one fan added.
"Good on him!!! So over hearing these podcasts and reading autos about celebs parents constantly just being absolute flakes to their children and expecting their kids to be the cash cow like they OWE them something. Then when they older they want sympathy cos the kids don’t speak to them," one fan added.
"There’s many reasons Mac will always be beloved and making it through to the other side of kid celebrity without being bitter is one of them," one fan added.
Culkin, who is in a relationship with Brenda Song, is now a father and he's making sure that he won't make the same mistakes that his dad did.
