Kesha's tour coming to Darien Lake
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- After announcing her forthcoming record, "." (pronounced "Period") on March 27, Kesha has now announced corresponding dates for her "T*ts Out Tour," including a stop at Darien Lake on July 31.
The tour is described as Kesha's "biggest headline tour to date" and will be her first North American tour in over a decade. In addition to Darien Lake, the tour includes her first-ever shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City and The Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
Presales for the tour begin Tuesday at 10 a.m. and general onsale begins next Thursday at 10 a.m. Kesha will be joined by glam pop group the Scissor Sisters for the tour, which begins on July 1. English singer-songwriter Rose Gray will also be opening for Kesha for the Darien Lake date.
Kesha's new record -- her sixth studio album -- is set to release on July 4, Independence Day. In a press release, Kesha said she is "committed to bringing [her] newfound freedom" to her fans, and that a celebration is in order. This newfound freedom comes after a legal battle with her former manager and producer, whom she accused of rape, in addition to preventing her from growing as an artist.
The album will be released through Kesha's own label, Kesha Records. Her new single featuring T-Pain, "YIPPEE-KI-YAY." will be on the record, as well as the song "DELUSIONAL." and her comeback hit from last year, "JOYRIDE."
Additionally, she is encouraging fans to spread love and encouraged any single fans who will be in attendance to wear red.
“The most political thing we can do right now is love. Love ourselves and love each other,” she said in the release. “Americans need to have more safe, consensual sex. Our administration is so disembodied and disconnected. I’m going T*TS OUT this summer to bring as much safety, fun, acceptance, love, connection, and celebration to this country because we are just as much the fabric of this FREE nation as anyone else. We will not be quiet, and we will fight through joy! I think it’s time to make LOVE, not content. LOVE, not anger. LOVE, not hatred, and love, not war."
