Spring-like sunshine, drier skies around Portland on Thursday
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- April showers will fade on Thursday as spring temperatures begin to build around the Portland, Vancouver area towards the end of the week.
Lingering sprinkles and patchy early morning fog will quickly turn to sunny skies with highs in the upper 50s. The dry and sunny weather will only become more widespread on Friday and Saturday. That's when temperatures will return to the upper 60s to low 70s.
No record high temperatures are expected to be tied or broken this week, but the warmer-than-average temperatures will be welcomed by many.
No additional rain accumulation is expected through Saturday. However, rain chances return Sunday night into Monday as a large system offshore develops and moves in. Temperatures will begin to cool by the end of the weekend as clouds start to increase.
After this weekends warm up, temps will hover in the 60s with showers next week. Keep your eyes on the forecast with the KOIN 6 Weather Team as we track a spring-like showery pattern continuing into April.
