Native Plant Festival returns to Norman April 12
NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) - The Oklahoma Plant Network is set to host the Second Annual Native Plant Festival on April 12 allowing attendees to learn about native Oklahoma plants.
Attendees can expect purchasing opportunities of plants that are beneficial, and essential to the migration of animals and insects. Additionally, learning about native Oklahoma plants and how to incorporate them into home gardens and landscaping.
The festival will feature dozens of plant vendors, information booths, speakers, and more to celebrate native plants. Participants will see on display a varieties of plants, herbs, perennials, ground covers, and tropicals that benefit pollinators.
A free education talks are set to feature Connie Scothorn, a landscape architect, discussing the integration of native plants into a home landscape; Gus Barksdale, a botanist, will focus on
understanding the importance of plant origins for successful gardens; and Kristi Wicker from WildCare will discuss connecting native plants to local wildlife conservations, says Oklahoma Plant Network officials.
