Travis Kelce Friend Doesn't Hold Back on Taylor Swift Headlines
Earlier this week Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift dominated the headlines thanks in no part to anything they did.
One of Kelce's longtime friends, sports host Nick Wright, opened up on not being able to see the Kansas City Chiefs star as much. It all started when Kelce and his older brother Jason tossed around names of salary cap experts who they could have on their podcast New Heights.
Wright, a Chiefs fan, was tossed into the conversation by the longtime Philadelphia Eagles star, "Nice, known Kansas City Chief homer."
"F------ love Nick Wright," his younger brother responded.
After seeing the video, Wright commented on his relationship with the future Hall of Fame tight end. “Trav and I have not talk talked since he’s been serious with Taylor Swift, since he’s become, like, a super-duper celebrity," Wright said.
"Then at the parade last year ... we were going to get together after the parade or during, but there was obviously the tragedy and the shooting at the parade. So everything got askew. I haven't talked to Trav in a while, so appreciate the shoutout on one of the world's most popular podcasts."

His comment created a firestorm of headlines suggesting Swift drove a wedge in between the friends - which Wright made clear couldn't be further from the truth.
“I am so incredibly oddly frustrated by this because I think it is so recklessly unfair to Travis Kelce,” Wright said of the portrayal before explaining his comment.
"I said we don’t really talk during the seasons. We have a kind of annual event of being able to get together at the Chiefs Super Bowl parade,” Wright added. “But two years ago, the parade was cut short by a tragic shooting. And this year, the parade was cancelled by the Philadelphia Eagles. So those two times, we didn’t talk.”
“It’s just total horse s**t,” Wright said of the tabloid portrayal. “If I felt like I screwed up, I would apologize. But anyone that watched the show or saw it got the exact right read of it.”
Wright went on to explain this kind of media circus could only happen given Swift's immense fame and the rush to include her in headlines.
“I really think Taylor Swift might be the most famous person in the world,” he said. “I really think she might be the most famous person in the world if just someone at my level — whatever that is — of notoriety having an aside about her boyfriend and the last time we talked, if her fame gravity is so great that People Magazine and The Times of India are like, ‘this will get us some foot traffic on the website,’ it’s incomprehensible that level of fame… that was an insane realization of the reach that a true global icon has, which Taylor Swift is.”
