'Duck Dynasty' Star Phil Robertson Gets Grim Health Update
A few months ago, "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson was revealed to have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. And unfortunately, his son, Jase, gave a pretty grim update on his father's health this week.
During the most recent episode of the "Unashamed with the Robertson Family" podcast, Jase made it clear that his father's health has not improved as he gave a pretty blunt update to the fans.
“The number one question I get everywhere I go: ‘How’s your dad doing?’” Jase said on the podcast. “Now, I’m just giving the blunt truth: I say, ‘Not good.’”
While that's certainly not a positive update, he indicated that the family is trying their best to keep positive spirits.
“We’re doing the best we can,” he continued. “I think that’s just what you do.”
Back in December, Jase shared that the Alzheimer's was in the "early stages." However, it also sounded like the 78-year-old was dealing with some other health issues, too.
“According to the doctors, they’re sure that he has some sort of blood disease that’s causing all kinds of problems,” Jase shared on a December episode of the podcast. “It’s accelerated and it’s causing problems with his entire body.”
There is currently no cure for Alzheimer's, so the family is simply doing what they can to make him as comfortable as possible.
“We’re trying to do a lot of things to figure out how to make him more comfortable, and maybe help with his memory,” Jase said. “We’ve got a team of doctors and they’re all in agreement that there’s no curing what he has. And so, what do you do? We’re trying to make him a little more comfortable.”
Phil Robertson rose to fame after he starred on the reality television series, "Duck Dynasty," which aired on A&E from 2012 to 2017. The show followed the family business, Duck Commander, which makes products for duck hunters, primarily a duck call named Duck Commander.
