Aimee Lou Wood Reveals Why Cast 'Lost Their Marbles' on The White Lotus Set
In a recent interview with The Times, actress Aimee Lou Wood opened up about what it was like to film the most recent season of The White Lotus.
During the interview, she said at a certain point, it became hard to differentiate the cast from the roles they were playing. "There was a bit of leakage. We were all accidentally Method... It has happened every season. Everyone has lost their marbles a little bit.”
Wood added that at times, an actor would even deliver one of their character's lines or speeches in the middle of dinner. Wood, however, has towed this line before. She told The Times, "Sometimes I feel like I can experience more of a range of emotions as a character in someone else’s story than as myself."
In the show, Wood perfectly executes the role of Chelsea-- the girlfriend of Walton Goggin's Rick. Speaking about her own character, she said, "She’s not cool, she’s not poised, she’s not posing like the others. She’s just experiencing. So I can just unmask in a weird way."
Despite soaring to fame since the show's release, Wood remains level-headed and down to Earth. She tells the outlet that she has a "resistance" to the buzz, and prefers to stay home over partying. "I can’t handle my feelings of being overwhelmed," she explains.
“Now that I’ve started to let it in a bit more, it’s like a bender: just do the thing, accept the tiredness, have fun and then process it later. It is a little bit of a British thing: we’re all embarrassed about saying, ‘This is a moment in my life.’”
