Inside the changing faces of stars who spent £48k having fillers & surgery REVERSED after realising how ‘fake’ they look
FROM puffiness and discolouration to “frozen face,” it seems more and more celebrities are coming to regret their cosmetic procedures.
Last month, Lottie Moss revealed she had been “fixed” after having her fillers dissolved, while Frankie Sims admitted she was shocked to discover the negative side effects she had experienced from cosmetic jabs.
Experts predict this trend will continue throughout the year.
Dr Aamer Khan, cosmetic doctor and founder of Harley Street Skin Clinic, explains: “We treat many celebrities at my clinic and are seeing a rise in patients asking for their fillers to be dissolved.
“Judging by the spike in numbers over the last year, I anticipate that this is a trend that’s set to continue.
“Many people, including celebrities, come to us because they have had excessive filler elsewhere, which has resulted in an unnatural or unbalanced look.
“As well as too much filler, poor placement or migration of filler has left some patients dissatisfied with their results.
“There is a definite shift towards a more natural, classier look, with patients opting for subtle enhancements rather than excessive volume, particularly in the lips and cheeks.
“This movement is supported by a range of new treatments that focus on rejuvenating rather than altering facial features.”
Here, we take a closer look at the changing faces of celebrities who have had filler treatments – only to spend thousands having them reversed…
Molly-Mae Hague
Molly-Mae Hague underwent a transformation to embrace a more natural appearance, reversing several cosmetic procedures she once had.
The 25-year-old business mogul has reportedly spent thousands on treatments, including lip and jaw fillers, but experts believe she spent a considerable sum to undo them.
She’s also opted to tone down her bright, flawless teeth, recently sharing that she had her composite bonds removed to reveal her natural smile, which she described as “extremely yellow.”
In an extract of her book, published by The Sunday Times, Molly-Mae admitted her face looked “uneven and unnatural” after the fillers.
Speaking about her first YouTube video after having fillers, she said: “It looked horrendous. Someone took a screenshot of my video and it went viral.
“‘What’s Molly done to her face?’ was the response. I was mortified.
“The reality was that my once-sharp jawline had jowls hanging underneath, my lips felt lumpy, uneven and unnatural.”
Experts estimate that Molly-Mae may have spent over £6,000 on fillers and their removal, along with an additional £2,000 on adjustments to her teeth.
Lottie Moss
Last month Lottie Moss took steps to dissolve her facial fillers after realising how “awful” they looked.
The 27-year-old model thanked her doctor who dissolved her fillers expressing how he “fixed” her.
She revealed that reversing the cosmetic procedures she had undergone in her younger years has helped her feel more like herself again.
Pointing out a bruise on her lip from filler removal in a new video, she said: “I dissolved everything in my face that I had before.
“I used to have jaw filler, which looked awful, and I used to have lip filler, but it’s all gone now, and I look like me again.”
Frankie Sims
The 29-year-old is another star to jump on the trend as she showed off her ‘new face’ this month.
Frankie Sims got her lip and under eye fillers dissolved, after being shocked to find out that she had old filler lingering under her eyes from years ago.
Frankie, who had under-eye filler around five years ago, explained how she had had puffiness and discoloration under her eye and wasn’t aware that it was due to leftover filler.
In a video speaking to her Instagram followers, she explained: “All she’s done is just dissolved it. And literally, it’s gone down already.”
Sophie Kasaei
Another reality star who got their filler dissolved this month is Sophie Kasaei, and she took to her Instagram page to share her results.
The 35-year-old, who has been open about her previous plastic surgeries, showed off her “sunken eyes” after having all of her face filler dissolved.
But now she is on a journey to reverse some of the work she has had done, undergoing a round of treatment to remove the filler from her cheeks, chin and jawline.
The star could be seen with a mark underneath her eyes which Sophie referred to as “sunken” following the dissolving treatment.
The MTV star told her two million followers: “Update on having my face filler dissolved – my eyes are extremely sunken but that’s a genetic thing.
“The cheeks are going down and the chin and jawline are slowly dissolving.”
Courtney Cox
In 2017, Courtney Cox revealed that she’s had all the fillers in her face dissolved after feeling she no longer looked like herself.
The Friends actress, 60, previously used dermal fillers to lift her appearance but revealed in a candid interview with New Beauty Magazine that they made her look “fake.”
“I’ve had all my fillers dissolved,” Courteney said. “I feel better because I look like myself.”
Explaining her decision, she added: “I was trying to make it not drop, but that made me look fake. I think that I now look more like the person that I was [before having fillers].”
Courteney also admitted she had become reliant on the injections, saying: “The next thing you know, you’re layered and layered. You have no idea because it’s gradual until you go, ‘Oh, s***, this doesn’t look right.’”
She emphasised the importance of natural movement in the face, especially for those with thinner skin like hers:
“You need movement in your face, especially if you have thin skin like I do. I’ve had to learn to embrace movement and realise that fillers are not my friend.”
Megan McKenna
Back in 2019, Megan revealed on The X Factor: Celebrity that she had had her lip filler dissolved in a bid to be taken seriously in the music industry.
And since then, the mum, who was known for being on TOWIE, has admitted that having her cosmetic tweakements reversed has been one of the “best choices” she’s made.
So much so the 32-year-old hopes to inspire others to do the same, after she finally accepted her appearance after forgetting what “a normal face looked like.”
Blac Chyna
Blac Chyna’s cosmetic reversal journey has reportedly cost her around £50,000, but experts warn she won’t be able to return her body to its natural state entirely.
The reality star began reversing several procedures, including removing silicone injections from her buttocks, which she had done as a teenager, as well as filler from her cheeks and jawline being dissolved.
However, plastic surgeon Dr Richard Westreich has said it’s impossible to completely remove all the silicone.
In an Instagram video, she told fans: “Back to the baseline. Honestly, I’m just tired of the look. It’s not flattering, and it totally changed my face.”
Dr Westeich exclusively spoke to The US Sun, and explained that while removing silicone is far more expensive than injecting it, it’s unlikely all of it can ever be extracted.
“It’s like trying to get sand off yourself after a day at the beach,” he said.
He estimated the cost of her procedures: around £24,000 for her silicone removal, £24,000 for her breast reduction, and £1,500 to dissolve facial fillers.
What are the risks of lip fillers?
THE RISKS of dermal fillers depend on whether the procedure was done correctly and the type of filler used.
The NHS recommends you speak to your practitioner about the risks beforehand.
Serious problems are rare but can include:
- Infection
- A lumpy appearance under the skin, which might need to be treated with surgery or medicine
- The filler moving away from the intended treatment area, which may need to be removed using surgery
- Scarring
- Blocked blood vessels in the face, which can cause tissue death and permanent blindness
You should see your GP if you have any complications that need medical attention and speak to your practitioner if you’re not happy with the results or experience lumpiness.
