Scotia-Glenville BOE approves $67M budget
SCOTIA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Scotia-Glenville Board of Education approved a budget of over $67 million for the 2025-2026 school year. The budget maintains all existing programs from the current school year, including both school resource officers, an athletic trainer, and the Learning Leaps program.
The budget will require a tax levy increase of over 5 percent, which exceeds the limit of over 3 percent. The estimated tax rate increase would be 3.44%.
The community will vote on the budget on May 20. It requires 60 percent voter approval to pass. If it doesn't reach the supermajority vote, then the board may choose to go out to voters on June 17 with the same or a revised budget.
