‘Stranger Things’ Star Joe Keery Details Uber Incident
Stranger Things star Joe Keery has released a new music album — and has quite the story to tell.
In an interview with Deezer, Keery — who's known as Djo in the music industry — said that he was in an Uber when he decided to hop out and get a slice of pizza. After exiting the vehicle, however, the actor realized that he'd left his hard drive in the backseat. That hard drive had "all the songs" that he'd recorded for The Crux.
"I take out my phone. Phone died. So, can't call the Uber driver," Keery explained. He spotted the car that he'd exited and started running after it — in the middle of New York City.
After a couple of blocks, the car made a turn and Keery caught up to it, knocking on the window. He quickly realizes it's not the same driver — or the same car. He returned to his hotel where he charged his phone and was eventually able to contact Uber. Keery offered the driver $100 and the hard drive was returned to him, safe and sound.
Keery shared a clip of the interview on Instagram where fans reacted.
"This has me so stressed as if he didn’t just release the album with no problem and got all the songs back," one person wrote.
"Imagine just chillin and then seeing Joe Keery chasing a car down the street," someone else said.
"Definitely worth the run, best album ever," a third comment read.
Keery's album was released on April 4.
