NBA rescinds Luka Dončić’s second technical foul vs. Thunder, which definitely fixes the problem
The NBA officially rescinded Luka Dončić’s second technical foul that led to his ejection on Tuesday, which makes no one feel better.
The NBA made everything right on Wednesday.
In a move that was clear to everyone would be coming, the league rescinded Luka Dončić’s second technical foul against the Thunder and agreed to replay the end of the game from the point of his eje...oh nope never mind they’re definitely not doing that last part.
Well, at least they did something? Nope, that’s not it either.
Luka Doncic’s (LAL) technical foul at 7:40 of the 4th quarter on 4/8/25 (vs. OKC) has been rescinded upon league office review.

This is similar to the Last 2-Minute (L2M) Report in that all it really does is annoy people with its findings. Yeah, they acknowledged a mistake and, in this case, did something to retroactively fix it. But no one comes out of this feeling better.
However, the cat was already out of the bag by Wednesday afternoon. You can’t uneject Luka from the game, which flipped entirely when he left.
The greater issue here is the standard of officiating in the NBA, which our own Edwin Garcia dove into. The standard not only needs to be raised, but consistency has to be paramount.
guessing it’s stuff like this which has led to jt orr only officiating one playoff game in his previous 13 seasons. https://t.co/5I10PhzZQs

According to his NBRA bio, J.T. Orr's favorite movie is "White Men Can't Jump," where basketball players engage in non-stop trash talk and profanities. You can't make this up. AKhttps://t.co/TeA5bqXg20

The NBA has a clear problem with officiating that has needed to be addressed for years. For a league that is trying so hard to make games matter more and for longer into the season, they seem to be overlooking one of the real problems in the officiating.
But, hey, at least they can rescind technical fouls and tell fans what they did wrong in the L2M Reports the next day!
