Jon Hamm's Hot New Apple TV+ Series Streams Sooner Than You Think
What if a modern-day Don Draper turned into a desperate criminal? In part, that's the premise of Jon Hamm's new series hitting Apple TV+ this week: Your Friends & Neighbors. The series has been slightly under-the-radar, what with all the hype around White Lotus ending, 1923 ending, and The Last of Us Season 2 nearly upon us, but there's a good chance that Your Friends & Neighbors could be the TV sleeper hit of the spring.
Here's what to know about the show, and when the first episode starts streaming.
What is the Release Date for Your Friends & Neighbors?
The new Apple TV+ series Your Friends & Neighbors starts streaming on Apple TV+ on Friday, April 11, 2025. The first two episodes will drop on April 11, and then one episode will drop every Friday until May 16. There will be seven episodes in the series overall.
What time does Your Friends & Neighbors start streaming?
New episodes of Apple TV+ shows generally start streaming at Midnight EST on the day of release. So this means, Your Friends & Neighbors will start streaming at 12:00 a.m. EST and 3:00 a.m. on Friday, or late Thursday night, depending on how you look at it.
What is the plot of Your Friends & Neighbors?
The new series is all about Jon Hamm as a hedge fund manager named Coop, who goes through an unexpected divorce, and then, through no fault of his own, loses his high-powered job. But, the thing is, he still lives in a very rich and exclusive neighborhood, so he decided to start robbing his ultra-wealthy frenemies in an attempt to get back on his feet.
The series also stars Amanda Peet as Coop's estranged wife, and Olivia Munn as another soon-to-be-divorced rich person and sometimes, love interest of Coop's.
The series is created and written by Jonathan Tropper, the novelist and screenwriter who also wrote This is Where I Leave You and co-wrote The Adam Project. Tonally, Your Friends & Neighbors feels very novelistic, with plenty of voiceover from Hamm, speaking directly to us, and guiding us through the somewhat comic, but also totally tragic tale.
For fans of good, but down-to-earth writing, and great acting from awesome people like Hamm, Peet, and Munn, this show is your next slow-burn watch. It's not an Apple show like Severance or Ted Lasso, but that's also not the point. And, in many ways, Hamm has never been better.
