Woman who fell outside upscale NYC market wins $6.45 million: Lawyers
MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) A woman who said she slipped on fish guts outside a Citarella Gourtmet Market has won a $6.45 million judgment, according to her lawyers.
The verdict comes after a three-week trial and two-day jury deliberation in Manhattan, according to a spokesperson for Jacoby & Meyers.
The 53-year-old woman had “severe” injuries after her fall, including a knee dislocation that required multiple surgeries, according to her lawyers.
Citarella initially made an incident report about the fall, but later said the woman had tripped on cellar doors, not fish guts, according to a spokesperson for Jacoby & Meyers.
Citarella did not immediately respond to PIX11’s request for comment.
