Arlington man dead after crash in Vermont
ARLINGTON, Vt. (NEWS10) -- A Vermont man died following a car crash on Thursday. It happened on Maple Hill Road just before 3 p.m. in Arlington, per Vermont State Police.
State Police said they responded at 2:54 p.m. to reports of a single-car crash in the area. Troopers reported learning the driver, Raymond Ostrander, 85, of Arlington, was entrapped and unresponsive.
The State Police's investigation revealed the Nissan Altima after the car was traveling northbound and left the roadway, crashing into a tree. It is unclear why the car left the roadway.
Ostrander was removed from the car by members of the town fire department and rescue squad and transported to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center before being pronounced deceased. State Police said the investigation is active and ongoing.
