LPSS announces personnel changes for 2025-26 school year
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- Lafayette Parish School System has announced changes in personnel, including three new school principals.
One of those principals will lead the new Lafayette Elementary School. It will be housed in the building currently occupied by Lafayette Middle School, which will cease to exist due to conslidation efforts decided last November.
The announcements made Friday were as follows:
- Colleen Comeaux will be the new principal of Lafayette Elementary. She was most recently assistant principal at Middlebrook Elementary.
- Ginger Richard is the new Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. Richard most recently served as the district’s Chief of Elementary Schools. She will assume the position following the retirement of Janine LaFleur.
- Sarah Clavelle is the new principal of Middlebrook Elementary, effective immediately. Clavelle was assistant principal at Live Oak Elementary for the past two years.
- Kim Thibodeaux is the district’s new Art, Music and Media Center Specialist. She was the art teacher at Southside High School since 2017.
- Brandon Bonner will be the new principal of Charles Burke Elementary School. Most recently, Bonner served as assistant principal at Dr. Raphael A. Baranco Elementary.
