Man allegedly admitted via messages to killing Obetz woman
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A man accused of killing a woman in Obetz last week was arrested and will face a Franklin County judge Saturday morning.
According to court documents, 44-year-old Jeffrey Caudill is charged with the murder of Jessica Bird, who was found dead in a Greenfield Estate home, near the intersection of Groveport Road and Noe Bixby Road.
At around 5:30 p.m. on April 3, Obetz police responded to a 911 call and officers found Rice, 49, dead at the scene. Caudill was taken into custody and court records indicate that he sent messages to one person admitting to the murder. He also reportedly called another person and said he killed Bird.
Caudill, who is being held at the James Karnes Correction Center, had his Friday morning arraignment continued until Saturday, according to court records.
