'1923' Star Makes Blunt Admission About Batman Rumors
The debate over who’ll play Batman in the next rendition of the popular superhero series has been a popular one amongst fans. Whoever is chosen as the next Dark Night is expected to make their debut in The Brave and the Bold, which does not yet have a release date.
The James Gunn film has not begun casting yet, but names like Alan Ritchson (Reacher) have been mentioned, along with one intriguing option in 1923 star Brandon Sklenar. From the sound of it, Sklenar is ready and willing to step fully into the superhero world as the next face of Bruce Wayne.
During an interview with Screen Rant, Sklenar discussed the possibility of being cast as Batman and loved the idea.
"I mean, for Batman? [laughs] Let's keep running with that! That's something I've wanted to do since I was a little kid -- and I've never even talked about it -- It just started happening and I was like, "This is cool!" And now, maybe, hopefully, it happens one day," Sklenar said.
"I'd love to do it. It's literally a childhood dream to do something like that, specifically that character. If I [were] ever to do any type of thing in the superhero space, that's what it would be."
Sklenar calling it a "childhood dream" is certainly noteworthy. While it's unlikely to make much of an impact on casting, it seems the 1923 star would be more than willing to clear his calendar to take on the role of the iconic superhero.
