‘Price Is Right’ Contestant Barely Avoids Wardrobe Malfunction
A Price Is Right contestant came this close to suffering a wardrobe malfunction on TV, but her quick thinking saved the day. In a YouTube clip from the April 7 edition of the iconic television game show, contestant Christianne was so excited to hear the invitation to “Come on down” that her tube-top style dress almost came down as well.
The enthusiastic audience member was wearing a strapless red and white gingham minidress topped with a bomber jacket as she jumped up and down while holding her dress up with both hands. Christianne’s hand was over her name tag, so host Drew Carey had to ask her to repeat her name because he couldn’t see it.
When Christianne won the game "Do the Math," she jumped up and down again but held on to her dress to make sure it didn’t slip down.
The Price Is Right has been on the air for more than 50 years, so it’s no wonder this wasn’t the first near wardrobe malfunction on the show. In a 1984 episode of the CBS game show, model Janice Pennington had an awkward moment while assisting original host Bob Barker during a “Hole in One” game.
After bending over multiple times while wearing a low-cut jumpsuit, the longtime Price Is Right model almost lost the belt that kept her outfit secure. Barker noticed the faux pas after roasting Pennington for her confusion while acting as a “greenskeeper” during the game.
“Now her belt has popped, just a moment here,” he cracked. “I’ll tell you, the things I have to put up with on this show!” the Price Is Right host added.
