Excelsior University employees participate in Volunteer Week
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Excelsior University staff volunteered with six charitable organizations throughout Albany from April 7 to 11. The volunteer efforts were part of the university's annual Volunteer Week.
According to the university, staff volunteered at the Capital City Rescue Mission, the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, the Radix Ecology Sustainability Center, the South End Children's Cafe, the Underground Railroad Education Center, and YWCA of the Greater Capital Region.
In addition to volunteering, the Community Engagement Group, a committee dedicated to coordinating these charitable programs, has been raising money in donations to benefit different programs. The donations will benefit the Albany County Adopt-a-Family program and its own Snacks for Students program, which provides healthy snacks for Troy and Albany High School students.
