Aimee Lou Wood's 'White Lotus' Costar Had Unexpected Message About Mocking 'SNL' Skit
Walton Goggins has seemingly added fuel to rumors of a feud with White Lotus co-star Aimee Lou Wood. The 53-year-old actor shared, then deleted, an Instagram Story over the weekend praising a recent Saturday Night Live sketch titled “White Potus,” which mocked Wood’s character.
Goggins called the parody “SMASHING” in all caps and wrote, “Jon I knew I was miscast,” referring to Jon Hamm’s portrayal of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., delivered in a style reminiscent of Goggins’ character, Rick. He also left a comment on SNL’s Instagram post: “Hahahahahhahaha Amazzzingggg.”
Neither Goggins nor Wood responded to media inquiries, but the timing of his post raised eyebrows. Wood, 31, had recently spoken out against the sketch, labeling it “mean” and “unfunny.”
In the segment, Hamm pitched bizarre ideas, including injecting people with “a syringe full of active measles virus” and removing fluoride from the water supply. Sarah Sherman, spoofing Wood’s character Chelsea with an exaggerated fake tooth gap, replied, “Fluoride? What’s that?”
Wood later took umbrage with the portrayal via Instagram Stories, saying the show could’ve taken a “cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap” approach. She clarified that she has “a big gap not bad teeth” and that her issue was with the sketch’s concept, not Sherman. She confirmed she received an apology from SNL.
Feud speculation intensified after fans noticed Goggins and Wood had unfollowed each other on Instagram. Co-star Jason Isaacs added to the buzz, describing the shoot as a “pressure cooker” filled with “arguments,” shifting cliques, and on-set drama.
