Los Angeles DJ Jed ‘The Fish’ Gould Dead at 69
Well known Los Angeles DJ Jed "The Fish" Gould has died. The 69-year-old spent the majority of his radio career at KROQ-FM. According to Variety, Gould died after being diagnosed with lung cancer, which was relatively recent.
The news of his death was confirmed on Instagram on April 14.
"At 6am on April 14, 2025, the world lost one its most unique and brilliant personalities," a post uploaded to Gould's account read. "Jed the Fish passed peacefully away in his beloved home, and the world will never be the same. RIP Jed, go be with Alice."
Jim “ Poorman “ Trenton, KROQ-FM radio broadcaster and friend of Gould, shared a tribute on social media after hearing the news.
"I don’t know what to say… I’m gutted … radio lost one of the greats. I lost one of my friends, colleagues and mentors. @jedthefish #jedthefish was one of #kroq greatest eat DJs and I was privileged to work with him and learn radio from him," he wrote.
"@swedishegil and I have paused my current FM radio show and are going to be talking and sharing stories about the legend Jed Um Fish Um and all the wonderful things he did for music and radio. Show will run from now till 11 AM. You can tune in at www.poorman.net. Or at any one of the live FM stations on that site," he added.
Fans have also taken to the comments section of the post on Gould's Instagram page to leave their condolences.
