'Starship Troopers' Cast Just Had an Even Bigger Reunion With Rare Photos
The comeback tour for Rico's Roughnecks continues! After a stellar reunion at Emerald City Comic-Con in Seattle in March, the cast of the 1997 cult classic Starship Troopers has once again gotten the band back together. And this time, even more cast members reunited on stage, and in rare photographs together, for the first time in 37 years.
At the Chicago Comic Con and Entertainment Expo, over the weekend of April 12, original Starship Troopers cast members Dina Meyer, Casper Van Dien, and Denise Richards added one superior officer, and one fellow soldier to the mix; Michael Ironside and Jake Busey.
Outdoing the viral photos from March, these new snaps, uploaded by Meyer to her official Instagram account, show her, Van Dien, Richards, Ironside, and Busey, all together for a special reunion panel at C2E2. The '80s kids got The Breakfast Club reunion at this same convention, but the '90s kids got this.
In case you forgot, in the 1997 movie, Meyer, Van Dien, and Richards played, arguably, the three most important characters in the movie, Dizzy Flores, Johnny Rico, and Carmen Ibanez. Veteran actor Michael Ironside—famous for Top Gun and seaQuest—played Mr. Rasczak, a former high school teacher to the gang, turned Lieutenant and their commanding officer in the war against the bugs of Klendathu. Meanwhile, Busey played Ace Levy, a fellow infantryman.
In addition to a reunion panel in 2024 at New York Comic-Con and the Emerald City Comic-Con reunion in March 2025, this gathering at C2E2 is the most nearly complete Starship Troopers reunion yet.
Now all that needs to happen is for somebody to get ahold of Neil Patrick Harris, and this victory lap for Starship Troopers nostalgia can be taken to the next level.
Starship Troopers streams on Amazon Prime Video.
