Mum divides opinions after compliant about neighbours kids’ footballs landing in her garden & so holds them hostage
A MUM has divided opinion after complaining about the neighbours’ kids’ six footballs landing in her garden.
Rosie, who has two children, lives in a cul-de-sac, which means she has gardens backing onto her own.
However, she revealed that there are “two little boys” in a house next to her garden, and they both play football.
Rosie explained that every day there are about “five or six” footballs landing in her garden.
Taking to her TikTok page @rosie010896, Rosie shared a video asking her 12.2K followers if she is a “Karen” for being so upset about this.
She went on to explain that she is currently trying to keep things off her grass as she has just seeded it, but these footballs continue to land in her garden – which means she has to “lob” them back over the fence.
And although she admitted that she “wouldn’t mind if it was occasionally, but at this point it’s literally every single day.”
Rosie explained that the kids will go out in the morning and kick their footballs against her fence at 9am, then at lunchtime, and again at 7pm – even when her kids are in bed.
But that’s not the only reason she gets annoyed.
Rosie said: “It’s also the fact that when my kids are playing in the garden, they literally get whacked on the head with footballs.”
She understands that you have to “let kids be kids” and doesn’t “want to be that Karen” or “that neighbour that’s just moaning,” but she has now decided to take matters into her own hands.
Rosie explained that the kids had kicked three over – normally she would lob them back, but now she has decided to keep them.
She added: “There are never any consequences to these boys’ actions.”
Rosie now wants to make them come round and ask for their footballs, and when they do, she plans to politely tell them to “control” the balls a bit better as they’re currently hitting her child’s head.
Within 24 hours of the video being shared, Rosie gained 181.1K views with 2019 people rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.
One simply wrote: “Yep, you are that Karen.”
A second commented: “Imagine moaning about kids playing football.”
But Rosie replied: “Imagine the footballs hitting my kids on the head in their own garden.”
A third said: “Just give them back. They are kids. They aren’t purposely kicking it over.”
However, some supported Rosie’s views as they said it was an “invasion of space.”
“It’s your garden and their parents should take them to the park to play football. Their parents are to blame,” they added.
