Tattoo pro slammed for ink that ‘looks like a confetti cake’ – but others say client wouldn’t be trolled if she was slim
A TATTOO artist has left people totally divided after sharing the ”confetti cake” ink on a client’s sleeve.
The adorable piece was over a dozen teeny hearts in gorgeous pastel shades inked across a woman’s whole arm.
But while the artist had put in a lot of work behind the tattoo which took them two hours, the reaction online was brutal.
The short clip showcasing the new inking was posted on Instagram by the user Tatted In LA, who regularly posts ink work from around the world.
At the start of the now-viral video, which has racked up more than a whopping 3million views, the artist appeared to have already completed the top half of the person’s arm.
With the stencil now ready and several dark blue hearts placed on the rest of the limb, it was time to go over the sweet shapes with pastel shades.
The spring-themed colours – lilac, turquoise, orange and pink – complimented the client’s complexion perfectly.
Sharing the epic makeover, the ink expert wrote on top of the glow-up: ”Sleeve of tiny hearts. Done in two one-hour sessions.”
Since being reposted on Instagram by Tatted In LA, the clip has won close to 25,000 likes – and hundreds of nasty comments.
One person thought the adorable hearts ”made her look like a confetti cake”.
A second chimed and said the inking reminded them of an ”allergy test”.
A fellow critic added: ”The size of the hearts did her a total disservice and I def wouldn’t call this a sleeve but I see what they were going for.
”In all honesty the hearts need to be bigger as her skin tone is slightly darker in her arms near her elbows and you can’t see them.”
However, there was also a bigger issue in the comments section, many pointed out.
Dozens of kind-hearted Instagram fans flocked to hit back at the brutal trolls, insisting that if the client was slimmer, they’d love the tattoo.

Knees and elbows: Thin skin and little padding between the skin and the underlying bones.
Armpits and groin: High concentration of nerve endings and lymph nodes.
Neck and throat: Thin and sensitive skin, with many nerve endings and blood vessels close to the surface.

One expert in the industry said: ”An artist I like did this. I think its really cute and don’t understand the problem?
”feel like the caption is unnecessary and these comments would be completely different if she was skinny.”
Someone else agreed, writing: ”hey it’s cute, I didn’t realise this was supposed to be dragging on the tattoo until I saw the caption.
”I think everyone would be speaking much differently on this if it was a thin white woman.”
Another viewer chimed in with their perspective, writing: ”Had this been a thin person the comments would be a lot different… why can’t we let people enjoy things and be happy in their own skin?”
