Large fire in Adams causes 2 schools to evacuate
ADAMS, Mass. (NEWS10) -- A large fire in Adams, Massachusetts has caused the Hoosac Valley Elementary School and BART Charter Public School to evacuate. Classes are canceled for the day at both schools.
The Hoosac Valley Elementary School said the reason for evacuation is the large amounts of smoke from the fire. The BART School is evacuating to the Adams Visitor's Center on Hoosac Street. Bus drivers will be driving students home following evacuation at both schools.
Students from the Hoosac Valley Elementary School who don't have a parent accounting for them at the bus stops will be brought to the middle and high schools. Students will be released from the middle school gym area to parents.
