'And Just Like That...' Season 3 Trailer Reveals How the Show Will Deal With Sara Ramírez's Absence
For a while now, fans of And Just Like That… have known that Sara Ramírez, aka the controversial Che Diaz on the show, won’t be returning for season 3. And, as expected, Che is not only not in the third season trailer, but their former love interest Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) is moving on swiftly without them.
The trailer, which was released on April 15, has Miranda, who broke up with Che in the sixth episode of season 2, with a few potential other love interests instead.
In one moment, Miranda talks about a connection with her coworker, played by actress Dolly Wells. “I really like her, but it’s a work contact,” she says. Later on in the trailer, the two are laughing at each other on the bed. We’re guessing that relationship doesn’t stay professional for long!
In another scene in the trailer, Miranda is seen walking across a bar to a curly-haired woman who had waved at her. Given the flick of her hair, it’s safe to say there’s some flirting going on there, too.
Not only has Miranda moved on from her relationship with Che, but Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) has also moved on from the podcast she once had with Che.
In fact, Carrie is turning a page in her career as an author. “I’m trying something new, it’s fiction,” Carrie tells her publisher over Zoom. “Romantasy is very hot right now,” she responds, before joking, “Sex and the Cauldron.” Pretty catchy, right?
Back in January, fans started picking up clues that Ramírez left the show after they posted a lengthy post on their Instagram Story claiming “casting directors and agents are making black lists of actors and workers who post anything in support of Palestinians and Gaza to ensure they will not work again.”
At the time, a Max insider discredited Ramírez’s allegations, noting to the Daily Mail that their role had been “on the chopping block since last season” because “annoying” Che “held no value anymore” once their character split with Miranda.
“Sara was not fired because they support Palestine and the cease-fire,” the source said. “Sara was fired because Che brought nothing to the show anymore. The storyline as a struggling comedian was a waste of airtime and Sara knew it.”
Regardless of how messy Ramírez’s exit was (or wasn’t), it looks like the third season, which premieres on May 29, will have no trouble moving on without them.
