Popular baby food brand recalls thousands of pounds of product
NEW YORK (PIX11) – A popular baby food brand sold nationwide is recalling over 6,000 pounds of product due to elevated levels of lead, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
In March, Miami-based company Fruselva recalled Good & Gather Baby Pea, Zucchini, Kale & Thyme Vegetable Puree.
The product, commonly sold at Target, comes in 4-ounce tubs, according to the FDA. On Tuesday, the FDA reclassified the recall as Class II, meaning the products are unlikely to cause serious harm but still have the potential to result in temporary or reversible problems.
The items are marked with lot number 4169 and have a best-by date of December 09, 2025. Some items are marked with lot number 4167 and have a best-by date of December 07, 2025.
At Target, we’re committed to providing safe, high-quality products for our guests. We require our suppliers to comply with all applicable food safety standards and federal, state, and local regulations. This recall involved a limited amount of product, which we took immediate action to remove from our shelves.

The products are no longer in circulation at stores. A spokesperson said that if guests purchased the impacted product, they can call Target Guest Relations at 1-800-440-0680 or visit a Target store for a full refund.
